Software Downloading and Uncompressing

Deputation Organizer -or- Full Installion of Ministry Organizer:

Software installation is basically the same whether you’re downloading the Deputation Organizer, or a full installation of the Ministry Organizer. The first step is to successfully extract/unzip the file after it’s been downloaded, this is accomplished by opening the file.  Some internet services will give you the opiton of doing this automatically.  If yours does not you will need to locate the downloaded file and double-click on it to open it.

When the downloaded file is opened, a window will appear with the unzip/extraction options.  It is recommended that these options not be changed. Press the unzip or the extract command button. The compressed/zipped software files will be extracted/unzipped.

If you downloaded and extracted the Deputation Organizer software, a “c:\depudoc” folder will be created. If you downloaded and extracted the Ministry Organizer software, a “c:\MiniOrg Setup” folder will be created.  Once the folder has been created you are ready to proceed to the next section on installing the software.

Ministry Organizer 2.1 UPDATE ONLY:

Downloading the version 2.1 update is different from the full installation download. The file that you will download is not a compressed/zipped file and therefore will not need to be extracted or unzipped.  The file will need to be placed into your MiniOrg folder (not the MiniOrg Setup folder).  This can be accomplished best by downloading the file directly into your MiniOrg folder. If the file is not downloaded directly into your MiniOrg folder, you will need to move the file into your MiniOrg folder once the file has been downloaded.

Software Installation

Deputation Organizer -or- Full Installion of Ministry Organizer:

In order to install the software, double-click on the setup.exe file within either the “c:\depudoc” folder or the “c:\MiniOrg Setup” folder depending upon the file you downloaded.  After clicking on the Setup.exe file, simply follow the installation instructions on the screen.  Note: if there is more than one SETUP file within the folder, it’s important that you select the Setup.EXE file. If you cannot see the 3 character file extention, select the file whose icon is a picture of a computer.

Ministry Organizer 2.1 UPDATE ONLY:

Once the MiniOrg21.mde file has been placed within your MiniOrg folder, the only thing left to do is to change the shortcut command that launches the software. To do this, follow these instructions:

1) Click on your START button
2) Click on PROGRAMS
3) Click on MINISTRY ORGANIZER
4) Right-Click on MINISTRY ORGANIZER 2.0
5) Click on PROPERTIES
6) Click on SHORTCUT tab
7) Click anywhere inside the TARGET box
8) Press the END key on your keyboard
9) At the end of the command string, change MiniOrg.mde to MiniOrg21.mde
10)  Click the OK command button

That’s it! You’re ready to go.  To launch the software click on START -> PROGRAMS -> MINISTRY ORGANIZER -> MINISTRY ORGANIZER 2.0. Note:  The actual command line will continue to say 2.0. This should be ignored.  As long as you have followed these instructions, you will be launching version 2.1.

Upon full installation of either the Deputation Organizer or the Ministry Organzier it is recommended that you read the Readme.txt file that comes with the software for information and answers to general questions that are asked.
